AI Brain Lab and AIT Sign MoU to Foster AI-Driven Academic and Business Synergies

14 May 2024: The AI Brain Lab Co., Ltd. (AIBL) and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) have formalized their collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic partnership aims to boost academic exchanges, entrepreneurial initiatives, research, and development through AIBL’s establishment at AIT’s Board of Investment (BOI) Science and Technology Park.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto, President of AIT, and Dr. Chaklam Silpsuwanchai, Co-Founder of AI Brain Lab, marking a significant step in fostering innovative and technological growth.

Under the agreement, both organizations will engage in knowledge sharing, business development, and the use of AIT facilities for mutual benefits. Key initiatives include joint seminars, training courses, and internships that bring together technology leaders and entrepreneurs. Additionally, the partnership will support innovation through mentoring programs for student and faculty startups,  as well as joint efforts in grant applications and project dissemination.

AI Brain Lab Co., Ltd. (AIBL) is a newly established Board of Investment (BoI) approved digital technology company with the primary goal of accelerating the integration of Artificial Intelligence technologies into businesses and society. Situated at the Board of Investment (BOI) Science and Technology Park, within the premises of AIT in Thailand, AI Brain Lab (AIBL) aims to deliver AI-powered products and services that transform multiple sectors, such as medical imaging, natural language processing (NLP), ESG-related advancements, and more. Dr. Chaklam stands as the pioneering AIT faculty member to leverage Thailand BOI privileges, co-founding a company on campus with Mr. Raymond Chee, a seasoned expert in international business, a technology entrepreneur, and pioneer in enterprise cloud computing technology in Southeast Asia, and Mr. Sanjeet Amatya, a professional with decades of experience in information and communication technologies and also a marketing strategist. 

From AIT, the signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Russell Bruce Rein, Vice President for Administration; Prof. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Vice President for Academic Affairs;  Dr. Sangam Shrestha, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology; Ms. Chalita Lertwinyu, Executive Director of the Office of Thailand Affairs (OTA); Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director, International Affairs, Office of International Public Affairs (OIPA); Mr. Sanjeet Amatya, Director, Public Affairs, OIPA; Ms. Jennifer Finch, Manager, AIT BOI Science and Technology Park Coordination Office; Ms. Nitjaree Wongluck, Administrative Officer OTA; and Ms. Glaziel Kae Go Tagamolila.
